Contemporary Rugs
The Rugman of Santa Fe carries a unique line of contemporary rugs. Using a combination of spun wool and silk, these handmade rugs are ethically made in Nepal. Our contemporary rugs feature a variety of award winning designs that have been thoughtfully conceptualized. Inspired by the beauty of nature, antique Asian tapestries, and even modern architecture, these pile rugs are stunningly designed and exceptionally well made.
Gabbeh Rugs
Our Gabbeh rugs are made in Iran from local hand-spun wool and natural dyes. They are best known for their modern, geometric and often whimsical designs. Persian Gabbehs are made by nomadic Turkish, Lor and Qashqa’i tribes; the wool used is of the best quality – soft to the touch and stain resistant. These rugs are made to last – tightly woven and expertly finished, they use strong natural dyes to create vibrant, color fast designs.
Kilim Rugs
Kilims are flat woven rugs and ours come from Turkey (Central Anatolia) and the Balkans. We prefer Turkish Kilims because of the variety they offer in terms of color, design and workmanship; they are natural dyed rugs made from local, hand-spun wool, produced by nomadic families and reflect a diverse culture and long history of artistry. The Rugman of Santa Fe searched for the most accomplished dyers and weavers in Turkey until we found what we consider to be the finest quality Kilims available. Our line of Kilim rugs are made especially for us.
Traditional Oriental Rugs
Our traditional rugs are mainly produced in Afghanistan. They are made of from hand-spun, natural dyed wool. We pride ourselves on the quality of our Traditional rugs; to which varies from 80 – 160 knots per square inch. The varied designs found in traditional rugs originate from Persian, Turkish, or Indian classical designs. Our traditional rugs most often incorporate intricate floral designs or geometric patterns.

Copper Pots & Furniture
We carry copper pots from Turkey, most of which are 30 or 40 years old. They were used in Turkish homes for cooking, washing and bathing. Most have brass or hand-forged iron handles and are priced by the weight. Sizes vary from 10” in diameter to 30” in diameter. The copper pots can be used decoratively for plants, fire wood or anything you can imagine, except cooking.
Our wooden furniture is hand made in Santa Fe by carpenter Sam Bair and covered in either cow hide or kilim. The metal bases are forged in Mexico and upholstered with kilim in Santa Fe. We carry bar stools, ottomans, and benches. Custom designs and sizes are possible.
