The Rugman of Santa Fe offers three different types of rug pads. We recommend that customers use a rug pad for smaller rugs, high traffic areas, large area rugs if they are placed on uneven floors (for example, Saltillo tiles), and if extra padding is desired. Rug pads secure the rug and prevent slippage. Also, rug pads can increase the longevity of the rug by providing a barrier between the rug and the hard surface below.
All Natural Wool Rug Pad
This 100% natural wool rug pad is biodegradable, non-flammable, water resistant, and durable. We recommend this rug pad for large area rugs (5ft x 8ft and up) since gripping the floor is not as important as with small rugs, but it still provides a barrier between the rug and the floor for increased rug longevity. This rug pad is thick and supremely comfortable underfoot.
Price: $3.25 per square foot
Natural Rubber Rug Pad
This rug pad is made from natural rubber, NOT PETROLEUM, so it will not stick to your floors or stain them over time. We recommend the natural rubber rug pad for all hard surfaces – especially floors that are heated by sub-floor radiant heat. This rug pad is dense and very strong. You’ll find that this pad grips the rug and floor well and provides a nice cushion underfoot.
Price: $2.90 per square foot
Thick Grey Rug Pad
This rug pad has a strong grip to hard surfaces as well as to wall-to-wall carpeting. Place the reverse waffle “tentacle grip” side face down on hard floors and you have excellent gripping power. Turn the rug pad over – rubber side up – and you have a pad that keeps area rugs securely in place over wall- to-wall carpeting. This rug pad provides extra cushion underfoot and can be used with any size rug.
